Maruti Suzuki has officially launched its new compact SUV, the Victoris, in India. Positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, the Victoris marks Maruti Suzuki’s second entry in the midsize SUV segment, following the 2023 Grand Vitara.
Under the hood, the Victoris shares the Grand Vitara’s powertrain options, including a 103hp, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild hybrid petrol engine; a 116hp, 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder strong hybrid setup; and an 89hp, 1.5-litre petrol-CNG variant with an underbody-mounted tank to preserve boot space.

Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic for petrol, an e-CVT for the strong hybrid, and a 5-speed manual for the CNG variant. All-wheel drive is available with the petrol-automatic configuration.
The Victoris showcases a bold design inspired by the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara electric SUV. Exterior highlights include a chrome-accented grille, LED headlamps with pixel-style DRLs, a layered bumper with a silver skid plate, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, squared-off arches with cladding, and a floating roof. At the rear, a segmented LED light bar and prominent ‘VICTORIS’ lettering stand out.

Inside, the Victoris takes a tech-focused approach, seating up to five passengers. A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system pairs with a digital driver display of the same size.

The cabin also features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, Alexa-enabled connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, gesture-controlled electric tailgate, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control with rear vents, a heads-up display, cabin air filter, and 64-colour ambient lighting.

On the safety front, the Victoris carries its 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, featuring lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking. Additionally, the SUV introduces a segment-first gesture-controlled smart tailgate, enhancing convenience and safety.
The SUV will be available in six trim levels—LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O)—competing with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate.
